FOR PROFESSIONALS

Highfields has a long history of developing programs in conjunction with area service providers. The programs focus on providing services to children, youth and families. Many of the services are provided through contacts with state and county governments, courts and school districts. Highfields is also partnered with two mental health authorities and several insurance companies. Several of the programs are available for fee-for-service. All services are licensed and/or accredited. Below is a brief description of some of the common elements of our services followed by a list of current services. Many of the programs allow for referral through this web site.

All Youth, Family and Educational services available in Michigan only, with the exception of some Training and Development services which can be provided out-of-state. Travel costs may apply.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Training and Development options are offered through the Breakthrough program. These services can be customized to assist children or adults to learn new skills in a group setting. Experiences can be designed to directly correlate to actual business or life conditions. This experiential learning can be effectively transferred into positive behavioral skills in the workplace, a relationship, or group.

Corporate and Business - Breakthrough Training and Development services for businesses of all sizes focusing on team development, communication and problem-solving.

Colleges and Universities - Breakthrough Training and Development services for colleges and university graduate and undergraduate programs focusing on team work, communication and problem solving.

School and Youth - Breakthrough Training and Development services for private, public and charter schools, scouting groups, church youth groups, etc., focusing on team work, problem-solving and communication skills.

Non-Profit - Breakthrough Training and Development services for church groups, scouting organizations, social service agencies, etc., focusing on team building, problem solving and communication skills.

YOUTH SERVICES

Youth Services include short and long term residential and community based programming. These provide opportunities that engage youth and their families in strengthening relationships through guidance and self-awareness. Using a reality-based, goal-oriented and activity-centered approach, services include family counseling, group and individual counseling.

Short Term Residential (Phoenix Program) - For boys age 12-17, open referral in lower Michigan (per diem for service).

Short Term Residential (Stabilization Program) - For boys age 12-17, open referral in lower Michigan (per diem for service).

Training and Development (Breakthrough) - An experiential education program available throughout Michigan that offers individual and group experiences for students, parents, teachers and other school staff.

Juvenile Diversions Program - Weekend service program for youth offenders, Ingham County Law Enforcement and Ingham County Court referrals only.

Summer Camp - Available for groups of children (fee for group).

FAMILY SERVICES

Family Services are strength-based and goal-driven and customized to meet the consumer's needs. To help families, Highfields provides numerous community-based service options. The options are usually home-based, individual or family-centered and are provided during times convenient to the consumer.

Alternatives to Domestic Violence - Family counseling and offender groups, self-referral or court ordered, fee for service, groups located in Lansing.

Behavioral Health Services - Office-based counseling for children, families and adults, Physicians Health Plan/PHP, PHP Medicaid, M-Care, M-Care Medicaid, Traditional Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and other insurances managed by United Beahavioral Health accepted, offices located in Lansing and Jackson.

Wraparound - For families whose children are at risk of out-of-home placement, self-referral possiblity, service available in Branch, Clinton, Eaton, Hillsdale and Jackson counties.

Family Reunification Services - For children returning home from foster care, DHS referral, service available in Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee and Monroe counties.

Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) - For families with open CPS cases, DHS referral, service available in Barry, Eaton and Lenawee counties.

Outreach Counseling - For families with an open DHS case, DHS referral, service available in Clinton, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson and Shiawassee counties.

Family Preservation Program - For children with delinquency charges, DHS referral, service available in Ingham county.

Family Preservation Services - Home-based counseling for children with mental health diagnosis, Lenawee Community Mental Health referrals only.

Home-Based Services - Home-based counseling for children with mental health diagnosis, LifeWays approved referrals only, service available in Jackson and Hillsdale counties.

EDUCATION SERVICES

Education Services include community based school programs as well as after school programming and in-school groups. Currently two programs are in operation in Jackson County. All services can be replicated in other school systems and are designed to assist students in mastering social skills that will allow them to be successful in traditional school settings.

Pride and Repect Opportunity School (PROpS) Program - A community supported alternative for youth who have been expelled from Jackson County schools.

After-School Program - A constructive alternative available for daVinci Institute students who otherwise would return to an empty home at the end of their school day.

Skills of Success (SOS) School Based Skill Building Program - A group program available throughout mid-Michigan that helps students master social competencies that will support their becoming more responsible, effective and successful both in school and in life.
